Junior

As an out of state student who had chosen to attend this school for its program, nervousness and curiosity struck my system, as my last after-school summer came to an end. While I had experience in art, as well as basic engineering and architecture, I wasn’t exactly sure what product/industrial design meant. I had so many questions, but was ready to try something new, which ended up being the best choice of my life. I can fully say I wouldn’t trade it for anything, and I have learned so much valuable information, as well as meaning of having an unstoppable work ethic.

Next year will be my final year in the PRDN program at Montclair State as a senior, and I had just wrapped up junior. Junior year was by far the most challenging, but contained real life connections and coaching from companies. Looking back on my work from freshman year, I have changed into a professional-ready student eager to refine my skill and learn more. Every student who joins and goes through the program becomes a product of it (pun intended) and finds the best version of their self. With teamwork, maturity, drive to succeed, time management skills, and more, this program has provided everything a student needs to become successful and a well-rounded individual. Along with this, each professor has been a challenge, but brought out the best of each student and trained them in each design element to reach their full potential. Their generosity, understanding, and sympathy in and out of the classroom has allowed each student to grow, but still understand the values of our profession in the real world.

All in all, this program might be the most challenging at Montclair, and for a good reason. With numerous studio projects, research analysis, endless drawing, model making, technical manufacturing outlines, and sky high expectations, make no mistake, each student must put in their hardest effort always. But with that being said, the benefit is like no other, with family like connections, and professional confidence. All in all, this program is among the most elite, and deserves an extreme amount of credit. I’d like to thank the professors, classmates, and alumni who have taken their valuable time to help us throughout these years. I’d 11/10 recommend this program and faculty. Words cannot describe how thankful I am, and this program holds a special place in my heart
