Alumnus - class of 2015

It has been nearly 8 years since i last took steps through the halls of Finley at MSU as an ID student. At the time the program was called Industrial Design. This program has been influential in how I go about my professional career as a designer and hot it has shaped how I think about product and everyday life. My career trajectory has only been fueled by the lessons I've learned between thoes four walls. To this day I still call the graduating class of 2015 my closest friends. We still go out every other weekend to just hang out and discuss our next great idea which hasn't happened yet...but one day it will. Another reason this place is special to me is that it is the place we me and my now wife met. We both struggled through the program together and we made it through to the other side. We have added to our family now and it would be a shame if I couldn't bring my son to the place where me and his mom met.

My time at the MSU ID program has not been the easiest but all the memories I made there I still cherish. I could talk about how amazing the program is and how it helped shape me as a professional designer, or how everything I have learned in the major I still continue to use and how every company that I have worked for is astonished at how much I actally know just from the things I learned from the major...or even how the program has helped me work towards a career path that I am not only proud of but that I enjoy every day...I could talk about all of that...but what really means the most to me are the times I had with the friends I made and the memories we had between thoes four walls.

It sucks knowing that the newer generation of product designers may never get a chance to experience what I experienced. I hope the school knows that if it wasn't for the major I would have probably dropped out of school.

Doc if you read this thank you.
