Alumnus - class of 2021
As a graduate of the Montclair state product design course it deeply saddens me to hear the program is being discontinued. Despite the lack of support from the administration, my class (Class of 2021) managed to make the most of what we had. From updating our studio spaces to decorating the hallways with student work we built a strong community to pass on to the classes that followed us.
I do believe the university should take time to update the facilities instead of taking the easy way out by discontinuing the program and getting rid of all the hard work us students and staff put in to make the program as good as it could be without the support of the school.
The program always had a very high job placement rate and my class can attest to that. With seven out of eight students working in the field not even a year after graduating I hope the school would reconsider this decision.
